I grew up in Shawnigan Lake, found my first job there at the Sunflower Cafe, and enjoyed multiple summers by the lake. If you're from the area you may remember my friends and I riding our unicycles around town together. Last year on a trip back to Vancouver Island to visit family I decided to take a detour through Shawnigan. A long the way I began to notice the streets were riddled with blue signs displaying "Save Our Shawnigan Water"
Letting my curiosity grab a hold of me I dug further into the story. I began to understand the weight of the issue and what was at stake. I live in Vancouver and work as a motion graphics artist and I felt I wanted to do my part in protecting a town I hope to one day call home again.
This video has been created in my own time and on my own budget. I just hope to shed more light on what's going on and to save our Shawnigan water.
